There were 353,500 fires in residential buildings/homes in 2018 leading to 2,840 deaths, 11,400 injuries and losses of 8, 194,500 dollars in property damage according to the U.S. Fire Administration. People that struggle with daily life due to old age, physical disabilities, learning disability, mental health problems, addiction and other needs, have an increased risk of dying in a residential fire.
